Quality Manager

For a leading manufacturer in the packaging industry we are looking for a Quality Manager. You will lead and inspire a team of 10–15 QA/QC professionals and play a key role in ensuring that the products meet the highest quality and food safety standards. You will drive compliance with BRC, HACCP, ISO, and lead internal and external audits, while acting as the main point of contact for both internal departments and external stakeholders.

This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role within our plant operations, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. You will work full-time in day shift. It is an office-based role with regular presence in the production areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the QA/QC team
• Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
• Ensure compliance with BRC, HACCP, ISO, and customer requirements
• Manage audits (certification bodies, customers, internal/external)
• Handle customer and supplier complaints; perform Root Cause Analysis
• Create and update quality procedures, manuals, and documentation
• Promote quality awareness and train staff across all departments
• Monitor KPIs and report risks/improvements to management
• Act as the primary contact for auditors, clients, and authorities
• Lead food defense and crisis management activities

• Good working conditions according to the CAO Metaalbewerkingsbedrijf (38-hour week):
  • Monthly gross salary: €4,500 – €5,200, depending on experience and qualifications
  • 25 vacation days
  • 8% vacation allowance
  • Travel allowance € 0,23 per kilometer for up to 35 kilometers (one way) per day. The first 10 km (one way) are considered the employee's own costs and are not paid. Maximum allowance is € 11.50 net/day.

You will work for an international organization that is specialized in high-quality packaging solutions. At the Horst facility they produce and sell tin can packaging. They combine innovation, quality, and sustainability to serve a wide range of national and international customers in the food, beverage, industrial and pharmaceutical sectors mainly in the Benelux countries and Germany. There is an informal and personal atmosphere. 

We are looking for a proactive, communicative, and structured professional who can manage both the strategic and operational sides of quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.

Required:

• HBO/WO degree in food technology, quality management, or similar
• Several years of experience in a quality leadership role (preferably in food, pharma, or packaging)
• Strong knowledge of BRC, HACCP, ISO standards
• People management experience and strong interpersonal skills
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail
• Fluent in English, Dutch is an advantage
• Confident user of Microsoft Office and QMS tools
