What are you going to do?We are looking for a proactive and skilled Systems Support Engineer to support on-site systems and daily operations at a remote location (close to Amsterdam). You will be the go-to technical contact on-site—handling everything from Linux systems administration to hardware troubleshooting and operational logistics. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, with remote guidance, and wants to make a direct impact on critical vehicle operations.
Your Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Linux-based systems, including application support, monitoring, and troubleshooting;
- Assemble, configure, and repair server and workstation hardware to support site workflows;
- Act as on-site smart hands for remote engineering teams—handling debugging, log collection, and hardware swaps;
- Monitor and triage local system alerts, resolving issues that affect operational uptime;
- Execute and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for site systems and infrastructure;
- Support hardware deployments, maintenance cycles, and turnaround logistics;
- Manage the handling of data-bearing components, ensuring alignment with operational timelines;
- Oversee shipping, receiving, and inventory for site hardware and components;
- Collaborate with operations teams to align systems readiness with vehicle deployment schedules.

What do we ask?- 2+ years of experience in Linux systems administration or systems engineering;
- Comfort with command-line tools and basic scripting (bash, Python, etc.);
- Hardware troubleshooting experience—BIOS/firmware, cabling, replacements;
- Familiarity with SSH, remote access tools, basic networking, and imaging;
- Experience supporting field operations, logistics, or remote environments;
- Ability to document technical processes and follow SOPs;
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience preferred;
- Must be based in—or able to regularly commute to—a remote site.
