For the European Medicines Agency we are looking for a Project/Programme Officer in Information Processing and Analytics office!
What are you going to do?Role summary:
The Information Processing and Analytics team within EMA's Information Management division is looking for enthusiastic candidates that want to apply their technical skills in data analytics, big data and artificial intelligence in the health, pharmaceutical and regulatory context of the Agency. The role involves implementing analytics and visualisation tools as well as Artificial Intelligence solutions to embed into our Data Analytics Platform which utilises EMA’s cloud services in Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services. As well as technology, it requires interactions with a multi-cultural team, representatives from supplier organisations and stakeholders from across EMA.
Role specific duties & responsibilities
- Engage with the business to define objectives and success criteria for PoCs related to AI and advanced analytics in the context of the Data Analytics Platform (DAP).
- In consultation with the DAP architects, define a technical design for each PoC.
- Implement and test each PoC in close collaboration with the DAP team and business colleagues.
- Document, evaluate and present the outcomes of each PoC.

- activities of the organisational entity within which the job holder carries out those tasks;
- the set of annual performance and development objectives, which are established together with the reporting officer;
- the requirement to comply with SOPs, WINs, confidentiality undertaking and other documentation relevant to the role and its scope. These will be agreed upon with the reporting officer upon assuming duties.
Communication and professional contacts:
- Required to receive and convey information, orally and/or in writing, of a non-routine nature which needs careful explanation and interpretation e.g. explaining or interpreting policies, systems, processes; dealing with matters of a sensitive nature; formulating responses to more complex enquiries; drafting news items, letters, minutes, reports or presentations.
- Regular professional contacts with others inside and/or outside the Agency on functional matters. Solicits/gives information, provides advice/guidance and should use initiative. A likely requirement is to influence others’ thinking and negotiate with various parties within own job responsibilities. Normally connected to the Agency's core business or a project.
In particular, a Project/Programme Officer will:
- Provide support in managing vendor relationships to ensure open communication and positive working relationships;
- Timely and transparent communication to / from Programme manager and stakeholders;
- Assist in the organisation of interactions with external stakeholders, service providers, as well as work across the department and the Agency to mobilize resources, capture operational data and contribute to the preparation and implementation of projects.

Salary range:
4,757.33 gross per month (5 years of experience)
5,382.68 gross per month (5 - 17 years of experience)
6,890.74 gross per month (17 years of experience or more)

What do we ask?Education:
- A level of education which corresponds to completed university studies of at least three years attested by a diploma;
Experience:
- Up to 3 years from the time when a university degree was awarded on completion of a minimum of three years of study
- In coordinating and organising projects and / or initiatives;
- In dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
Nice to have:
The successful candidate should have experience in:
- using programming tools (such as Python), frameworks (such as Pandas and/or PySpark) and reporting tools (such as PowerBI)
- developing LLM and RAG empowered applications
- gained through professional or academic experience. It is important to have prior experience in working in a team and in a multicultural environment. Previous experience with Git and cloud tools from Azure and/or AWS is a plus.
- In coordinating and organising projects and / or initiatives including change management activities.
