For the EU Agency we are looking for an interim Lawyer (Commercial Law) to join the Institutional & Legal Affairs Department!

Role summary:

The purpose of this role is to provide day-to-day support to the Legal Service, in particular the Commercial Law team. The team’s responsibilities cover financial rules, litigation, contract law, intellectual property rights, procurement, conflict of interest, data protection and grants. The role will be carried out under the supervision of a Temporary Agent (AD).


Standard role duties & responsibilities:


  • Manage task overviews and the common inbox, keeping internal clients informed on the status of their requests;
  • Support team members in providing legal advice on the interpretation of decisions, rules and regulations;
  • Draft initial texts for changes or new provisions;
  • Produce summaries and briefings on topics, legislation and case law relevant to commercial law;
  • Draft and interpret commercial contracts (end user licence agreements, extensions, amendments and agreements) for review;
  • Perform any other tasks related to Commercial Law as assigned.
Wat bieden wij?

A fulltime, temporary 6 months contract from 29-09-2025 until 31-03-2026.


Salary range:


  • 4812,17 gross per month/27,76 gross per hour (5 years of experience)
  • 5444,73 gross per month /31,41 gross per hour (5 - 15 years of experience)
  • 6970,17 gross per month /40,21 gross per hour (15 years of experience or more)

Wat vragen wij?

Education:


  • Completed university studies in Law attested by a diploma (minimum 3 years of university education).


Experience:


  • At least 2 years of recent relevant professional work experience, including in at least 2 areas of Commercial Law (financial rules, litigation, contract law, intellectual property rights, procurement, conflict of interest, data protection, grants).
  • Experience in legal research and analysis.
  • Experience working in an international, multidisciplinary work environment.


Skills & Knowledge:


  • Thorough knowledge of English (C1 level or higher).
  • Very good drafting skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Competent user of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet tools.
  • High degree of commitment, flexibility and service orientation.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to act with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across departments and with external partners.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team, in an international and multicultural environment.
