What are you going to do?As an Assembly Operator, you work in a close-knit team within the Workshop department. You assemble excavators completely according to customer specifications — from assembly to final inspection. In Oosterhout, you mainly work on custom-made machines, while in Amsterdam the production is more series-based.
You read work instructions, gather the necessary parts, and ensure that each machine meets Hitachi’s high-quality standards. Together with your colleagues and the Foreman Workshop, you maintain a smooth, safe, and efficient production process.
Your responsibilities include:
- Assembling excavators according to mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical specifications;
- Checking parts, tools, and instructions;
- Performing quality checks and reporting any deviations;
- Collaborating with colleagues and suggesting improvements;
- Handling administrative tasks, such as completing checklists and reports.

Where will you work?Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe (HCME) in Oosterhout is part of the global Hitachi group and specializes in assembling custom-made excavators for customers across Europe. Here, you work in a small, technical team where precision, quality, and teamwork are key to success.
What do we ask?- MBO level 2–3 (equivalent to vocational education), preferably with a technical background;
- Experience with assembly, installation, hydraulics, electronics, or construction work;
- Accurate, eager to learn, and motivated to become an all-rounder;
- Good command of Dutch or English;
- Possession of own transport (the location is not easily accessible by public transport).
