Key result areas (major duties, accountabilities, and responsibilities)

  • Ensures that all administration within IT and reported to IT are managed properly and in a timely matter.
  • Responds and resolves IT requests and queries logged via the IT support system and in according to the priorities set.
  • Ensures that the IT environment of the company is compliant to relevant regulatory and quality requirements.
  • Performs Application Management and User Management as first or second contact for the assigned applications and maintains the work instructions related to this system.
  • Supports as secondary Application Manager and performs User Management as backup for specified systems.
  • Provides helpdesk support to colleagues in the Lexington facilities
  • Participates in internal audits and audits by external groups
  • Responsible for system security, software updates and follows change control procedures
  • Manages license management and crisis communication
  • Responsible for asset- and knowledge inventory management.
  • Communicates to vendors, support-companies and third parties

Role & Place in the Organization

Part of the Global IT team, the Sr. IT Associate is on-site senior expert and IT Professional providing (hands-on) day-to-day end-user support and is based in the Amsterdam office. In this position, you are responsible for managing a wide variety of the company’s IT assets in the Amsterdam office including servers, workstations, (mobile) telephony solutions, networks and equipment, file shares, video conferencing solutions, lab equipment and more IT related assets. You ensure that all IT services are maintained to a high standard, and you provide day to day support to all end-users as required. You manage the of the company’s IT helpdesk and resolve user issues, consult for best solutions, and oversee data management processes. In addition, you take the lead in User Management and Application Management for several scientific IT systems ranging from locally installed to cloud hosted systems.

The Sr. IT Associate investigates, diagnoses and resolves reported incidents using the ticket system. You ensure that all IT services are maintained, and user calls properly addressed and make recommendations for improving the company’s IT systems. You initiate and execute IT Projects based on the overall IT strategy and priority. The Sr. IT Associate reports to the Associate Director IT.



Wat vragen wij?

You have:

  • BSc, MBO administration ICT or equivalent grade in Computer Sciences
  • Working experience or certifications
  • Cisco certifications (phones, network devices, firewalls, VPN)
  • ITIL certifications
  • Microsoft Certifications (Windows OS, Server, MS 365, Azure AD, SharePoint)
  • SQL and Access
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a technology services role, Platform Engineer, Service Administrator or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and strong understanding of a wide range of relevant technology
  • Experience with working in a commercial organization
  • Able to execute and report on IT led projects
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal (English and Dutch)
  • Experience in a multi-cultural international organization is preferred
  • Physically able to manage/support workplaces
