We’re looking for a Senior Assortment Planner to join the General Partners MPU at EHQ!
This role develops Assortment Plans for allocated Franchise/Classifications for the MPU.
What will you be doing?
- Planning: Experience in assortment planning with the ability to apply that knowledge independently in their work. Basic understanding of financial, product, and supply planning. Able to collaborate efficiently with upstream & downstream functions. Aware of emerging trends in planning.
- Risk management: Escalates risks or opportunities that are grounded in facts and presents options for resolution. Assess risk within business objectives.
- Analytics: Bring to bear statistical forecasting, data science, and new ways of thinking to develop plans and drive better decisions. Expands existing frameworks to do analysis in a logical structure. Expert in excel or other data modeling application.
- Insights: Demonstrates strong problem solving & thinking skills by developing accurate plans that optimize trade-offs & outcomes. Thinks beyond prescribed solution & demonstrates industry & market trends to improve business outcomes. Understands (digital) retail metrics & business drivers.
- Consumer focus: Understand consumer needs & marketplace from available data and is able to link plan with market trends. Awareness of product portfolio and strategy, including expectations around consumer response, growth opportunities and product lifecycle
- Influence: Designs compelling communications that articulate the story and insights with a clear summary of the main ideas. Present insights at SKO to the broader GP team.
- Plan franchise/classification allocations assortment and AA product for the partner business across General Partners EMEA.
- Distribute approved allocation across GP Cluster/Account portfolio to ensure the right product availability for our Grow and Spark accounts.
- Negotiate: Land the Allocaton and AA product plan with Merchandising, Partners and Consumer team.
- Join assortment conversations with the cross-MPU/Gender team to drive the right consumer demand plans
- Analyze product & market performance through statistical analysis and data focused decision-making
- Collaborate with key cross functional partners on pre-season and in-season risks & opportunities

- 3+ years of experience in Consumer and/or Retail Merchandising/Assortment Planning is expected.
- With a consistent track record, you will have strong consumer demand, retail (drivers) math’s, financial planning optimizing margins, inventory planning skills and reporting
- Demonstrate a strong understanding detailed assortment planning, product affinity as well as higher level Omnichannel Retail and coordinated market place planning strategy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage effectively with a broad range of audiences including senior business leaders, other senior planning leaders, and highly technical talents – both internal, as well as external with buying organisation of Partners
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Commercial & Ambitious mind- and skillset, ability to negotiate and trade pre- and in-season
- A strategic outlook and shown experience leading projects and cross-functional teams, with a track record of overcoming obstacles and challenges to meet business expectations
- A self-starter mentality and be eager to drive and own end to end communication with results driven, forward thinking and proficient information seeking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to network, utilize internal and external resources, deliver commitments, and to meet timelines
- Excellent knowledge of automated planning systems, MS Windows applications, particularly Excel
- A passion for Sport and deep knowledge of specific product categories can certainly be a plus.
