What does the role involve?

Being a Payroll Specialist within the UK payroll team, you will have the responsibility of ensuring timely monthly payroll processing from start to finish as well as year-end filing. Additionally, you will be providing support to various teams such as Local HR, Finance, Store Managers and Benefits (e.g. medical plans, life insurance and disability plans etc.). You will be also the main point of contact for Administration and External partners.


You will be responsible for the following:

  • Input and processing of the UK and Ireland payrolls.
  • Completion of post payroll administration, including preparation and reconciliation of reports and controls.
  • Responding to employee and third-party queries.
  • Provide general payroll and benefits support as required.
  • Issue post payroll reports and documents.
  • Run various reports in SAP to support payroll processing.
  • Process all statutory payments in line with legislation.
  • Work with the Benefits team to ensure the correct processing of employee benefits.
  • Reconcile and load pension reports to the pension administrators.
  • Responding to payroll-related administrative requests when required.
  • Complete monthly payroll audits for each payroll.
  • Preparation of any ad hoc reports as requested.
  • Reconcile any overpayments and recover the funds where necessary.

  • Ensure all data handled meets with stringent audit/SOX requirements.
  • Must have the ability to work on your own or as part of a team to develop creative solutions to enhance current payroll processes.
  • Good attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong team player with the ability to be flexible, diligent and dependable.

Wat vragen wij?

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working in a UK and Ireland payroll position.
  • Excellent understanding of UK and Irish payrolls and the related legislation for each country.
  • IPPM qualification preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills with the ability to learn additional programs as needed.
  • Experience with HR and Payroll specific systems such as SAP HCM and ADP GlobalView would
  • be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.Experience with ServiceNow (HR Case Management) is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Highly organized and efficient and can handle multiple demands and deadlines.
  • Able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong team player with the ability to be flexible, diligent, and dependable.
  • Able to work alone and with team members to develop creative solutions to workflow issues.
