General description

The HR Generalist is responsible for performing a wide range of administrative duties related to Human Resources policies and programs. Including processing paperwork for recruitment, compensation and payroll, training, benefits administration, workers' compensation administration, safety/OSHA compliance and records management. You will perform tasks focused on developing, coordinating and improving Human Resources programs that add value to the organization.

 

Essential job functions

·        First line service desk for all queries on salaries, timekeeping, schemes and other HR related questions

·        Provide solicited and unsolicited advice to employees, managers, team-leads on various (HR) topics

·        Processing hours for temporary employees and keeping pension and insurance portals up to date

·        Perform all duties necessary for effective administration of employee benefit programs at the local level

·        Performs timekeeping and payroll duties, including collecting and reporting timekeeping data, managing distribution of payroll checks, and completing employment and unemployment insurance verifications

·        You will provide employees with copies of benefit plan provisions, enroll new employees in benefit programs, provide specific benefit areas such as family and medical leave, short-term disability and other administration

·        You will be responsible for new employee orientation and assist new employees in completing all required paperwork

·        Performs all duties related to ensuring proper communication, documentation and retention of records related to the hiring of new employees

·        Maintains personnel files in accordance with company policy and applicable government regulations

·        Record and archive exit interviews and ensure proper communication of results and data to management

Wat vragen wij?

Experience & skills

·        Post-secondary vocational education with relevant experience or a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, accounting or a related field

·        3 - 6 years’experience in Human Resources, Business or related field

·        Ability to organize, prioritize, and accomplish a large number of diverse tasks, often in very short timeframes with a high degree of accuracy and detail to attention

·        Willingness to learn

·        Ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity on a daily basis

·        Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of Human Resources work

·        Demonstrated tact, above average communication skills, and ability to work effectively with employees at all levels in the organization

·        Ability to convey a positive and professional image to applicants and employees

·        Proficient PC skills (WMS/ERP) and most important: MS Office

·        Experience with HR Administration and/or Pay Roll software is a plus (ADP, ProTime)

·        Speak English and Dutch. Polish is an advantage


Working conditions

·        General climate controlled office environment within a warehouse and manufacturing facility

·        Sustained attention to detail

·        Ability to read and analyze data and other written information

·        Exposure to fast paced work environment with conflicting priorities and deadlines

·        Prolonged sitting and repetitive motion due to extended computer use

·        Occasional exposure to warehouse, distribution and production area working conditions, including moving materials handling equipment (OPT, Forklift and Reach Truck), noise and dust exposure

·        Possibility of a one-year contract

·        Market-based salary

·        Part-time contract for 16-24 hours (or 2 parttimers 20 hours a week> 40 hours needed)
