We’re seeking a Security Threat Analyst (STA) to join our EMEA Security team in Amsterdam. This is a great opportunity to work in a fun, busy and fast paced Security and Crisis Management role. This position has two main duties: to provide business leads and senior management actionable information to help them make quick, well-informed decisions during major events. And to identify, assess and escalate threats/incidents that may pose a risk to Uber’s staff, assets and operations across EMEA. You will work well under pressure, have excellent communication skills and a keen interest in international security and current affairs.

What you’ll do:

Provide precise and timely communication, escalation and coordination during a crisis / major incident;
Monitor, collect and analyse information from disparate sources (such as social media, mainstream; media and internal databases) about incidents that may affect Uber’s employees, facilities and operations;
Produce security reports and threat assessments that support Physical Security and wider teams;
Develop intelligence products that increase awareness and understanding of EMEA security issues;
Support the Global Travel Security program with country risk ratings and travel security briefings;
Maintain security and crisis management documentation, such as contact cards and GIS mapping;
Build relationships with stakeholders across Security and business operations;
Perform day-to-day tasks as directed by the EMEA Security team.

Wat vragen wij?

What you’ll need:

1+ years experience in a security role, journalism, international relations, law enforcement or the military;
Or, a university degree and demonstrable interest in crisis management, business continuity and/or security;
Proven ability to locate, process and synthesize large amounts of information quickly;
Ability to stay calm during high-pressure situations and produce clear and concise reports;
Excellent written and briefing skills, and ability to articulate information succinctly;
Attention to detail and ability to think clearly during fast and fluid events;
Strong research, analysis and critical thinking skills;
Must be flexible and able to work non-traditional work hours as determined by ongoing events / incidents;
A team player with a passion for security.

What can you expect from us?

Hourly salary between €18 - €22 per hour (based on experience & education)
Temporary contract with the possibility to extend
25 holiday days on an annual basis (with full-time employment)
8% holiday allowance
Pension scheme: after 26 weeks worked via Adecco
