We are looking for a Employee & Corporate Communications Manager who can start as soon as possible. The role is for 40 hours per week, with a 10 months contract to start with.


What does the role involve?

As Employee & Corporate Communications Manager, you will optimize Employee Communications, as well as Corporate communications. You will work together with our following departments;

  • Employee Communications teammates in EMEA key cities / EHQ and global communications teams
  • Corporate Narrative teammates in EMEA key cities / EHQ and global communications teams
  • Communications counterparts in Consumer & Marketplace, Consumer Creation, Purpose, and Employee Communications at EHQ
  • Cross Functional counterparts at EHQ and in cities where required
  • Media/platforms in Netherlands where required
  • Collaborators & agency partners

What will you be doing?

  • Support the EMEA Employee Communications team, collaborating with local, geo and global counterparts to drive strategic communications plans that inspire and engage employees, bringing them closer to our purpose and brand.
  • Design and deliver end-to-end employee-first campaigns that reach employees in creative new ways, activating leadership where required and maximizing opportunities for impact.
  • Through creative storytelling and innovative strategies, connect with harder to reach audiences across our EMEA geo.
  • Work closely with cross-functional employee experience partners to manage change communications projects, develop and refine communications content, and ensure a consistent voice across employee comms.
  • Support the EMEA Corporate Narrative team, working closely with geo and global corporate narrative teams to deliver outsized impact around key EMEA narrative priorities
  • Manage projects supporting Nike’s former East territory cities including Istanbul, Johannesburg and Moscow, our operations in Tel Aviv and Gdansk, and our Distributor teams to deliver outsized impact around key narrative priorities
  • Manage media relations related to Nike’s presence in the Netherlands and its European Headquarters in Hilversum

  • 5-8 years professional experience in high profile communications or public relations roles supporting global sports / high profile organizations.
  • Proven ability to communicate narrative stories across a complex matrix on a corporate, regional, and functional basis, including presenting before audiences of various sizes and cultures.
  • Ability to drive and embed narrative storytelling into day-to-day media relations storytelling and elevate internally and externally.
  • Successful experience in working effectively and influencing stakeholders to guide and drive strategy.
  • Passion for and experience of bringing narrative storytelling and experiences to life for employee populations.
  • Relevant internal communications and/ or change management experience with business-partnering activities across stakeholders.
  • Experience driving Communications strategy for events, media outreach and across multiple vendor relationship.
  • Deep understanding of both evolving consumer communications environment and digital landscape.
  • Strong written & spoken English required; can take complex information and distil it into clear and simple messages for various audiences.
  • Basic written & spoken Dutch language required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, in particular PowerPoint, Keynote preferred.
  • Knowledge of/experience in retail is preferred.
  • Experience working on high profile consumer brands is preferred
  • Ability to Travel, 10-20%
